EBS Apologizes for Copying Japanese TV Program

The Korea Education Broadcasting System (EBS) apologized Tuesday for plagiarizing a Japanese television program. It said "Sci-Fun", a science experiment program, outsourced to a subcontractor, was found to have copycatted a similar Japanese TV program.

The program in question was aired July 23 and carried out experiments regarding musical instruments and paper cup phones.

However, the experiments borrowed ideas from the Japanese program "Odoroki no Arashi", a science experiment program hosted by the popular Japanese pop group Arashi. Plagiarism was first raised as an issue by Arashi fans in Korea.

"We issued an apology to our audience and cancelled the contract with the subcontract producer", an EBS official said. "We will take all steps to stem piracy in the future".

EBS also admitted that another episode of the program, aired last week, involving grafting watermelons and other melons, is suspected of being a copy as well.

As cheesy as it sounds, Eiga Sai holds a special place in my heart: back in 2004 I first saw Waterboys which led me to Asian films to dramas and finally, to Arashi.

Here's the schedule for this year's film festival! The end of my assignment was moved back to October so I won't be able to see it, again.

I was not really looking forward to the new singles after I've heard them. Not as good as the recent releases, IMO. But when I saw the full PV and MSta performance yesterday- oh yes I was pawned! I love the dance! But the one which totally sent me squealing with glee- Jun's whispering rap (or whatever you call it). HAHA.

It's almost 2am and I have work later but I have such a low EQ that I gave in to the temptation of the dvd.

It was so good. So high. So awesome. I cried watching Subarashiki Sekai (lol) - it was beautiful and pretty nostalgic, reminded me of ONE which is the Arashi con video that sucked me into this fandom.

And lots of JunToshi moments, heehee.

I read the first few fan reports that came out but after that, I've had enough. It's just too polarized - some have bad experiences, others have good ones. My point is, each one of those who went there has their own experience and story to tell, so let us not create animosity just because we disagree, or agree.
